Footings...

Yesterday they poured concrete for the footings. I think it will take a few days to cure, especially with the cold and damp weather we are having. Next up they will build forms for the walls and then pour more concrete. With the recent snow/wintery mix the backyard is pretty muddy at this point!

Concrete forms for new foundation

Here are a few pics of the forms for the new foundation. They are going to pour concrete on Monday. We had high winds here yesterday which ripped apart the tarping, so you can actually see more of the house than we'd probably like. Hopefully it will stay dry.

Digging the foundation

A couple of shots of the hole for the new foundation. They used a bobcat (which they wouldn't let me drive) and it is quite deep. They found a mysterious set of stairs that lead under the foundation and had to remove them.

The remodel of our Portland foursquare kicked off this week. The contractor removed the downstairs powder room and porch and prepared the site for the City of Portland erosion control inspection. Next week the digging will begin for the new foundation.
